GunLawBot is a free public tool that tells you what federal and Colorado firearms law actually says. You ask a question in plain English, and it answers with citations to real law — then hands you the source so you can read it yourself.
You don't need a CFFLA membership to use it. It's a law-reference tool, not legal advice — it shows you the law and where it comes from; it doesn't tell you what to do about your situation.
Where to find it
Go to cffla.org/gun-law-bot. There's also a full-screen chat version if you prefer more room to read.
Asking a question
- Type your question where it says "Ask about federal or Colorado gun laws…"
- Click "Send."
Your first question is free — the page invites you to "Try it free."
Reading the sources
GunLawBot cites the law behind every answer and lets you open the source. When you open a cited document, you'll see a "Summary" and the original material, with a reminder that captures the whole idea: *"This is the source material. Read it for yourself and decide whether it answers your question."*
Becoming a Citizen Supporter ($8/month)
GunLawBot is in Open Beta. After your free use, you'll be invited to "Become a Citizen Supporter." For $8/month (the button reads "Support the build — $8/month"), your support funds continued development and gives you a weekly research budget across federal and Colorado firearms law. If you're not ready, choose "Maybe later."
Supporting is a way to help build the tool and keep it free to try — not a membership in CFFLA. (CFFLA membership is a separate thing, for firearms-industry members.)
